INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNOLOGY LIBRARIAN

Position: INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNOLOGY LIBRARIAN
Department: JAMES B. DUKE MEMORIAL LIBRARY
Division: ACADEMIC SUPPORT SERVICES
Opening Date: OCTOBER 15, 2008

Note: This is a 12-month, non-tenure track position.


Responsibilities: Develops and designs learning modules for online and self-paced learning. Creates and delivers a wide range of Information Literacy services to student and faculty. Implements assessment programs to evaluate the Library’s current programs and resources as well as to measure learning outcomes. Prepares and maintains records and statistical data. Collaborates and communicates with faculty to identify resources to support their research. Communicates with faculty regarding copyright and intellectual property issues. Creates web templates for library online designs. Assists the Director in developing policies and procedures and budgets; assists with fundraising and public relations activities. Performs reference and night duties and other duties as required to meet organizational needs.


Qualifications: MLIS/MLS from an ALA accredited program is required. The successful candidate will be highly skilled with academic library and teaching experience as well as knowledge of curriculum development and web design. Candidates must demonstrate excellent presentation, customer service and writing skills. Must be flexible and be able to work well in a collaborative team environment.
