ASSOCIATE HEAD of INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
The NCSU Libraries invites applications and nominations for the position
of Associate Head of Information Technology. This role is one of
several Associate Head positions the NCSU Libraries has established in
its major departments as part of its commitment to developing future
leaders for academic and research libraries. This management position
offers the opportunity to participate in overall IT strategy and a
leadership role in the information management and retrieval services,
technology infrastructure, and development initiatives of the
Libraries. The Information Technology Department consists of five
librarians and twelve development and operations staff. Search by

You will work as a team with four other library consultants in a fast-paced, positive and always-interesting work environment. We are within walking distance of the East Village, http://www.eastvillagedesmoines.com/. In December 2007, Adam Nagourney, chief political correspondent for the New York Times said, "I'm not sure I would go so far as to say that Des Moines has become a vacation destination. But it has most certainly become cool."
This position develops, coordinates and conducts a wide variety of training for Iowa library directors, staff and trustees. Classes are held in a variety of formats: in person, online and over the Iowa Communication Network (interactive video teleconferencing). The position also administers the Iowa Certification Program for Public Librarians. The ideal candidate will have experience developing, coordinating and conducting training; experience with online learning; effective written, oral communication and presentation skills. Must be willing and able to learn and use new technology. Salary range: $44,366.40 - $67,516.80
