University Library Technician, Journey (Reserve Coordinator)

Circulation Department, Joyner Library

Position 42338


The Circulation Department of Joyner Library (Academic Library Services) is seeking a customer focused, team oriented person with computer skills. Primary responsibility for processing reserve material, print and electronic, maintaining the organization of the reserve collection, and providing quality reserve service to ECU students and faculty. Electronic reserves are placed in an online course management system. Maintains computing resources for Circulation, develops and enhances Circulation Web pages, and provides technology help service as a member of the Technology Assistant Group. Also participates in other Circulation Desk services, stacks management, and library projects.

Required knowledge, skills and abilities:

Knowledge of library policies and procedures; computer technology and its application in academic libraries. Advanced knowledge of applications software including; Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Dreamweaver, and Explorer. Knowledge of library systems, multimedia software, and Web tools is preferred. Ability to analyze and use library methods and principles, explain technical information to the lay computer user, and communicate effectively in oral and written form. Must be able to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic and changing environment.

Minimum Education and Experience:

Completion of high school and two years experience in office support.

Preferred Education and Experience:

Completion of a bachelors degree and Circulation experience in a library.

The normal work schedule is Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm.

Occasional evening, weekend, and holiday hours are required.
