Document Delivery Assistant

TEMPORARY ASSIGNMENT

POSTING DATE: 9/19/08

POSITION: Document Delivery Assistant

HOURS: 30 to 40 hours per week as needed, Monday to Friday, mornings and early afternoons.


Syngenta Crop Protection, a leading global agribusiness, is seeking a document delivery assistant for a temporary assignment at the company’s Greensboro facility. The document-delivery assistant will work with the company’s Information Specialist to meet the information needs of employees and customers. This a temporary assignment that is expected to last from 90 to 180 days.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Obtain and deliver journal articles, government documents, and other publications requested by company employees. Maintain records of all document delivery transactions.

QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of the principles and techniques of bibliographic research. Requires basic personal computer skills. Requires effective communication skills, and the ability to evaluate, prioritise, and resolve customers’ service requests.

PREFERRED SKILLS: Practical experience using online journals and online database systems such as DIALOG, MEDLINE, CAS/STN. Knowledge of information sources for the sciences (journals and other publications, indexes, databases, Internet resources). Experience with EndNote, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft FrontPage softwares.
