QUEST DIRECT HIRE POSTING (PET TEST SCORE REQUIRED) - This position is
with the Office of State Library, Technical Services, located in Baton
Rouge, LA. This position is in the Career Progressive Group and may be
filled either as a Librarian 1, 2, or 3 level depending upon
experience and training. This position may be filled either as a
Probational (new hire) appointment or by the promotion of a permanent
classified state employee of the Department of Culture, Recreation, &
Tourism. There are two appointment types; however, there is only one
vacancy.

The Department of Culture, Recreation & Tourism will create a list of
eligible applicants only from the people who respond to this posting.
We will not obtain a list of eligibles from the Department of Civil
Service. Applications MUST be received by 4:30 PM on the closing date
of this announcement if you wish to be considered for this position.

DUTIES: Incumbent will perform all aspects of original cataloging and
authority work of LA State documents and serials.

DESIRED REQUIREMENTS: Requires knowledge of AACR2r, LCSH, MARC format
OCLC and OOC. Experience with digital formats and Dublin core is
strongly desired.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A master's degree in library science from a
college or university accredited by the American Library Association.

employees.
