TITLE: Weekend Librarian (Part-time)

DEPARTMENT: Belk Library, Elon University

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Elon is looking for a service-oriented librarian who loves to function independently and is a good problem solver – a great opportunity for a Library School student looking to improve his or her skills. Librarian will provide reference services, and work with student assistants in circulation and computer support services, for sixteen (16) hours per weekend during the academic year. Schedule is 1 p.m. – 9 p.m. Saturdays and 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Sundays, with occasional additional hours optional. Some flexibility in hours may be possible.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Master of Library Science required or in process. Appropriate combination of education and experience may be substituted in unique circumstances. Some library experience and experience with electronic and print reference sources required, including completion of at least one reference course. Strong computer and interpersonal skills required. Ability to work independently.

STARTING DATE: September 6, 2008, or as soon thereafter as possible.
