Electronic & Continuing Resources Cataloging Coordinator Responsibilities:
Catalogs serials, electronic resources, and other continuing resources in all formats
Supervises the Electronic & Continuing Resources Cataloging group (3 staff)
Monitors cataloging and metadata standards development and LC changes in cataloging practices/policies with regard to electronic and continuing resources; analyzes impacts of these changes; determines and implements changes in local practice
Coordinates evaluation and integration of MARC record collection sets and large subscription packages into the catalog
Develops and manages cataloging workflows to assure timely processing and continuous access to serials and e-resources
Works collaboratively with Acquisitions and Collection Development to resolve complex access issues
Participates in setting goals, mentoring staff and encouraging teamwork in Collections & Technical Services and in the Library
Works collaboratively with other cataloging groups within the department to set policies and accomplish tasks
Works collaboratively with technical and public services to coordinate access to new resources across Joyner and Laupus Libraries
Consults with public services to improve patron access to electronic resources and serials
Contributes to the content of the Collections & Technical Services web pages and wiki and supervises the person responsible for maintaining these pages
Finalists will be asked to make a presentation during the on-campus interview. The position will report to the Assistant Director for Collections and Technical Services. Individuals who have recently earned the MLS and who have work history relevant to the position are encouraged to apply.
ALA accredited master’s degree or international equivalent in library or information science. This is a twelve month tenure track faculty position with a comprehensive fringe benefits package.
